Crosswalk safety is more than crosswalk flags, it's also education.
Many people don't know all of the regulations with respect to the Motor Vehicle Act as it relates to pedestrians and crosswalks. Issues such as:
- where crosswalks are located;
- what is jaywalking;
- entering a crosswalk on a countdown timer or red hand; and
- requirement to push an overhead RA-5 light activation button.
To that end the Society has developed two education tools.
